DIGITTRADE GmbH has been developing and producing external encrypted hard drives and USB sticks since 2005. Banks, companies and public authorities use the highly secure HS256S and HS256 S3 hard disks for the secure transport of sensitive and personal data as well as for the creation of data protection-compliant backups. The DIGITTRADE storage media also offer many possible applications for private users. At the end of 2017, the HS256 S3 hard drive was awarded the Common Criteria certificate of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). This makes it the first and to date the only hard drive to meet the strict requirements of the German IT security office.

Original Model
This Digittrade HS256S3 is the predecessor to the Kobra VS. Just like the Kobra VS, this received German BSI certification (BSI-DSZ-CC-0825-2017). However, after the Kobra VS was released, this model was never recertified, resulting in the certification expiring.
